How the heck do i get gmail?

i heard gmail is better than yahoo...and i dont know how to go get an email address...i guess someone has to invite you to gmail. please invite me! email me!

Reply:You can do it by invitation or you can do it by mobile phone..I did it by mobile phone...you give them your mobile phone # it sends you a text msg with the info you need and they you sign up
Reply:Well, you can either get invited or you can signup with a mobile phone (i.e. no invitation needed). Gmail Help page has this to say:

You can get a Gmail account if you're invited by someone who already has one. Or, you can sign up for an account using your mobile phone."
