With gmail is there a way to get the computer to alert you when you have a new email?

This is in reference to the previous question that I have asked.
With gmail is there a way to get the computer to alert you when you have a new email?
NEW MAIL NOTIFICATION


You can set this up in your control panel.





Sounds and Audio Devices


Sounds Tab


Scroll down the list to find New Mail Notification


Click on browse to select the audio file you want to play when you get new mail


You can click the play icon to test it


Click Apply and OK





That sound will now play when you get new mail. I use Thunderbird but this works with any mail client.
