EMERGENCY! How do I get rid of my gmail and hotmail account???

I accidently signed for this music thing, thinking i would get free music, and it was all spam!!! I want to get rid of my email accounts quick. HOWW!!

Everytime you receive such email, select it (don't open it and mark it as spam) -- works for both Gmail and Hotmail.





In Hotmail you can also set JUNK filter to "exclusive" or "people in address book only", this way you will get only those emails which are from your contacts and anyone (whether spam or not) will go to JUNK mail folder (so you will have to check it on a regular basis and select / add people who are not spam).

PS: It is always advisable to have one account that you restrict it only for your friends and known contacts, for other businesses or contacts you can have a general ID.
Reply:Ok first of all run your ant-virus and ant-spyware programs.


Then create a new account for each of the mail addresses you wish to use. Then contact the e-mail providers and cancel out the accounts. It usually takes 60 days for the accounts to be deleted.


Just don't log into them for that period of time
