It's funny, I don't advertise my gmail address, yet tons of spam (of course it's filtered), yet my yahoo email which is over 10 years old gets virtually no spam (filtered or unfiltered).
My thought is that yahoo's policies allow me to filter better, wheras gmail has very poor filtering and/or they prefer to deliver spam.
Why do I get more spam with Gmail than Yahoo Mail?
Both services show you all spam that it detected. Spam is caused by posting an address in the "wrong" place. Once started it grows like a disease. You must post the Gmail address more or gave it to a bad site.
The email provider has nothing to do with what spam is received. Their only control is the filtering and you still see all of it in the spam folder.

Reply:I disagree. I too get more spam in gmail than yahoo. I do not use or post my gmail account anywhere, but am pretty liberal with my yahoo account. I think perhaps more spammers must target gmail with brute-force spam attacks. Report Abuse
